The flow meter DATOSPIR PEAK-10 measures the intensity of flow of air passing through the airways when exhalation is performed as rapidly and intensively as possible. The level of the figure reached inform the doctor about the severity of patient’s illness.
Incorporates a simple tool for patient self (the light).
The DATOSPIR PEAK-10 has been designed and manufactured in accordance with European Directive 93/42/EEC Medical Devices. According to this directive the equipment is Class I with measuring function. Also complies with EN 13826.
Peak Flow Meters
An expiratory flow meter is an instrument designed to measure the strength of an individual’s peak expiratory flow. It is a small plastic manual device in the shape of a thick, cubic flute. The patient exhales as strongly as possible into the device, causing an internal mechanism to indicate a series of respiratory strength measurements. The meter measures the strength of the bronchi and therefore, the level of airway obstruction. This device is very useful for asthmatic patients and patients suffering from chronic obstruction pulmonary disease in order to manage the patient’s condition and their use of inhalers or other medicines.
